Direct mail is a great way to get new customers in the door, however if you use direct mail in the wrong way, it’s more like shooting your money down your toilet.

In this video, I’m going to give you a direct mail strategy you can start using today to attract new customers without flushing your money down the drain.

There’s 2 ways of using direct mail. You can mail customers who are on your contact list, which is the most profitable route to go or you can mail out to a cold list of customers, people who have not personally given you their information to market to them.

Today, I’m going to talk about using the United States Postal Service “Every Door Direct Mail” to mail out to a cold list of prospects in order to get new customers into your doors. It’s important that at least every 3-4 months you target brand new customers because if you never get brand new customers in your doors, you’ll never add more loyal customers to your business, in which they are the ones who make you the most money.

The key benefits to using Every Door Direct Mail is you don’t need to buy a list to mail to, no postage permit is required, and postage is only 18.3 cents. The way you target the people you want to hit is by carrier routes.

Right now, I’m going to show you a quick video of how this works if you set up an account with, it’s really simple. Also keep in mind that there are direct mail companies in your area who can do all this work for you too, but I want to show you how simple this is and then I want to tell you what kind of offers you should be using to get the most new customers in your doors.

So now that you understand the benefits and how Every Door Direct Mail works, let me tell you how to get the most customers in your doors. First you must have a valuable offer, and the better the offer you have, the better the response you’re going to have.

My ultimate goal when targeting brand new customers is to just break even on the front end. Give them as much value as I can, without the chance of losing any money. Why? Because I know that when I can get them in the door, I can get them back in over and over by providing a great experience and by getting them into our incentive program which offers even more value and benefits to them.

So I always like doing a 50% off offer that’s valued at at least $10. Or I will do a free offer but have restrictions that they must buy something else that will at least cover my hard cost on the item I’m giving away. This way it weeds out the really cheap people who only want free and not willing to spend any money.

So here’s the steps you need to take right now. First figure out your offer. What is the best offer, the most valuable offer you can make to get these new customers in the door? Remember, better the offer, the better the response. And the strategy behind this is life time value of the customer, repeat visits, not a one-time sale.

Second, get a direct mail postcard designed and ready to go. In a minute, I’ll tell you how you can get the one I personally use and that my private clients use.

Third, go to and find the carrier routes you want to hit.

Fourth, decide if you want a local company help you put this together or call and have them walk you or a manager through this over the phone.
