Hello and welcome to Bar Owner TV. In this episode I’m going to give you 6 bar restaurant promotional ideas that you can use in June in order to stand out from the competition and increase sales. I’m also going to tell you the most profitable way to market these promotions so you get the highest ROI on your marketing dollars.
Before I get stared, as a little reminder, people want NEW. They get bored with the same old specials and promotions. If you follow the big successful corporate companies out there, you’ll notice they run NEW promotions and specials throughout the course of the year. They give people REASONS to spend money.
That’s what you need to be doing as well. Create unique specials and promotions and give people REASONS or EXCUSES to come into your bar and spend money.
So, the first promotion you could run is on June 8th which is considered to be Best Friends Day. You could easily run a two for one promotion. You could say come in with up to 4 of your best friends and get “x” percent off on your tab.
Is this a promotion that’s going to bring in hundreds of new customers? No this is a perfect promotion to run using the “Customer Return Path” that I talk about in my LRVO marketing and promotional formula.
This is where you use the 4 most profitable marketing media’s e-mail, direct mail, text messaging, and social media targeted to your most profitable prospects, your own customer list. If you have a good, on going relationship with your list of customers, you can easily get 10-20-30 people or more in for a simple promotion like this. This is the most profitable way to market your business. Marketing to existing customers.
The second promotion you can run is on June 19th. National Martini Day! A perfect way to get more women in the bar! There’s a few things you could do here. You could create a list of 5 new martini’s that are on special that day. You could do 1/2 price martini’s. You could get one of the liquor companies to sponsor the event and bring in some give aways for all the ladies. You could say the first 25 ladies in the door receive a 50% off certificate good up to $10 off for that day.
I can go on and on but I’m sure you can see multiple different ways to promote National Martini Day. So how would you market this? To your list of customers using the customer return path I just mentioned!
Again, people sometimes NEED EXCUSES to find a babysitter and go out to the bar. There’s people who don’t need excuses at all. However, there are far more people who need to justify their reasoning to go out to the bar.
Your job as a successful bar restaurant owner is to create promotions that give people reasons to WHY the should come to your bar, but more importantly, why your bar over the competition. These rare holidays are perfect ways to do just that because most owners are NOT thinking out of the box and only sticking to the main holidays.
Can you honestly tell me you or your competition has run a best friend promo? Probably not right. This isn’t going to be bigger then St. Pats or New Years but it will keep things NEW and exciting in your bar and that’s what people want.
As always, I’m ready to help you drive higher sales and profits in your bar. Take that first step and get in contact with me.
