I’ve got some pretty exciting news to share with you today!
Last week I received an e-mail from Jon Taffer letting me know that he has partnered up with the National Restaurant Association and he wants me to come speak at his event in May, in Chicago, at the NRA show!
The presentation is going to be “30 Powerful Bar Promotions In 45 Minutes!”
May 22nd, 1pm.
So if you’re going to be out at the show, make sure you’re there. I’ll have a booth there as well so I’d love to meet you in person.
If you’re out at the Nightclub & Bar show in 2 weeks, I’ll also be speaking on Monday, March 7th at 4pm on “How Successful Owners Easily Generate $10,000 Or More In Sales….With Zero Marketing Costs”
The #1 Thing I Love About Taffer…
I’ve heard mixed reactions about Jon from friends and clients. They either love him or don’t like his yelling.
Here’s what I believe is behind all that yelling. When you have so much passion for an industry, when you have so much passion for giving people a great experience, and you see people running a bar who could care less about that – providing a great experience to your customers – IT’LL PISS YOU OFF and make you YELL!
Just like you seeing a staff member not care much about their job or their level of service, you’d be upset too.
And remember, it’s TV. But I don’t think his reactions are just for TV, I think it’s because of his passion for people and his passion for this industry.
My First Time Meeting Jon
The first time I met Jon was in Vegas at his On The Rocks event and he’s a great guy. The one sentence he said to me is probably what has given me the most motivation to take Bar Restaurant Success where it is today and that statement was “It’s people like you who can make a big impact in this industry!”
Coming from him, that meant a lot to me and lit a bigger fire up under my ass to keep grinding out valuable content and services to our industry.
The next night my wife Michele and I were invited to join Jon in his private booth at Tryst Nightclub.
This was definitely a big highlight of my life. Lil Jon, the rapper was DJing that night and he came over to Jon’s booth and I was able to get a picture with him too!
And this is how the night ended….
Yes, it was a good night! The next morning….Or I should say the next afternoon, when I woke up, not so good!
Anyways, just wanted to let you know the news. I’m super excited, and it shows my hard work is paying off and getting noticed by the most influential experts in our industry.
And it’s all because of people like you, who reach out to me and ask questions. This gives me the opportunity to provide value back to our industry.
(If you haven’t read Jon’s book, “Raise The Bar” READ IT! Yes, even if you’re a restaurant owner. I’ve read it at least 4 times and I have my managers read it once a year to refresh their memory. Awesome book. Buy it on Amazon, you’ll have it in 3 days.)
“Here’s another great resource for attracting new customers on Facebook.”
My Motivational Thoughts Of The Day…
With that said, NEVER give up on what you love to do. There’s going to be ups and downs. Nothing will be perfect. There will be days you feel lost and unmotivated. Don’t let that stop you from believing you can achieve the success you’re after.
All it takes is change. If your business is stuck, change your approach. Change the way you market your business. Change the way your staff greets customers. Change the way you hire and train. Change up your menu and specials.
I can go on and on but without change, without trying new approaches, you’ll be stuck where you’re at or it could even get worse.
And once you do make a change and once you do see positive results, your motivation kicks in, your desire to be more successful kicks in, etc.
Every time something positive happens to you, you get that boost. Again, just remember, if you don’t take action to create those positive reactions, they’ll rarely come your way.
The words under THE DAY can also be used for ANYTHING you want to do. Felt like they were a good reminder for me today. Good luck with your speaking engagement, not that you’ll need it.
Great job Nick! Keep up the great work! That was a great story!
Rick
That’s awesome Nick. Your the man, keep up the good work!!
