Nick Fosberg reveals a skill and mindset that distinguishes the very successful bar owners from the ones who are doing everything to get by. You have this skill, every bar owner / operator does. But are you using it to it’s fullest potential.

Delegation is one of the most important skills of effective management and it’s the key to your success in the bar business. If you don’t have the ability to delegate effectively, it will never be possible for you to reach your fullest potential as a bar restaurant owner, or be able to make as much money as you possibly can.

Management has been defined as “getting results through others.” Meaning delegating tasks, duties, and responsibilities to staff members. You’re delegating now. You have bartenders, cooks, and servers to take care of customers. But there’s hundreds of other small tasks that can be delegated for you that you might not think about that can save you time and energy.

If you are not willing to delegate more and more work to others, you’ll soon get burnt out on your business which will lead to many negative factors within your business.

Tell me, Did you get into the bar business to work non stop and not enjoy life. To be frustrated and irritated all the time? To feel like you have too much on your plate every day? Of course not. Most managers and owners have difficulty delegating work to others which then leads to more and more work for themselves.

Delegation has a many benefits and advantages. It allows you to focus on what you do best and it allows you to ONLY do what you enjoy doing within your business. Delegation allows you to increase the quality and quantity of your results. And your results will, more then anything else, determine your income and your success in this business.

With all this said, it’s common sense that in order for us bar owners to stay happy, healthy, consistently bringing in profits, and ten steps ahead of our competition, we must delegate more and more to achieve the best results for our business.

There are many factors to being successful in the bar restaurant business and one of the most important and key factors is having the ability to attract brand new customers and keep them on a very low budget. The only way to do this is from being a smart, strategic marketer. Anyone can be a smart strategic marketer, it’s learnable. It just takes a lot of time to learn and it takes a big investment of trial and error to see what offers
and marketing strategies work best.
